Pulse of projects
As a result of the project “Postindustrial society”, Governance and Problem Analysis Center is about to publish the monograph “Postindustrialism: from mythology to ideology”. In this research there was examined “Postindustrial society” theory. It appeared in 1970s as futurology theory and was “tested” using extensive phenomenological material. Extract from the monograph:
“All kinds of futurology perception didn’t pass the test on the subject of “service society” formation (as “postindustrial society” modification). It’s a proven fact that service sector has nothing to do with the age of postindustrial relations. We can see service infrastructure even in traditional society.
Nevertheless, this “failed” theory claims to supremacy in world science, it is extremely widespread. In Russia it became guiding line of economic “development”. Though according to the analysis, countries existing beyond this concept are more successful in their development.
There is a popular concept of I.Wallerstein school concerning world-system modeling. Thus, unified planetary world-system was established in the course of “big XVI century”. There are: Center (the West), Quasi-periphery (Russia in particular) and Periphery (pic.1).

Once racism theory justified colonial international relations, fascism theory justified Hitler’s views upon world order. Nowadays their place is occupied by “respectable”, “intellectualized” versions – postindustrialism and globalism. Try to find a difference…”
